Australia: Castlemaine Perkins (XXXX), announces major fundraiser
Castlemaine Perkins (XXXX), brewer of Queensland’s favourite beers today announced a major fundraiser to help the people of Innisfail and other affected areas recover from the devastation of cyclone Larry, Lion Nathan announced on March 27.
The XXXX Beach to Brewery Walk for Innisfail will kick off this Friday, 31 March 2006 from Surfers Paradise Beach and conclude in the afternoon on Sunday 2 April 2006 at the Milton brewery.
Covering approximately 100km, the walk will be led by 'Jacko' and 'Macca', the well known faces from the XXXX GOLD television campaign who will be joined by some other famous faces along the way.
“We’re going to be collecting money as we go. We hope people can meet us along the walk and donate a dollar, five dollars or anything they can spare to help the people of Far North Queensland,” said Mark Powell, Regional Director, Castlemaine Perkins.
“XXXX will match every dollar donated up to $50,000 so we hope to raise some substantial funds from this initiative,” said Powell.
Macca and Jacko will pass through Mainbeach, Labrador, Runaway Bay, Hope Island, Coomera, Yatala, Beenleigh, Logan, Springwood, Wooloongabba and the City on their way to the brewery.
Brewery staff will also form a team of volunteers who will assist in collecting money along the way.All monies raised will go directly to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
